Thing 5. Flickr. I've had a flickr account since 2007 but admit I use it very spasmodically. I have more family shots on the private setting so you won't see them :)
I read that Tumbler and instragram have made severe inroads into it's popularity.

I'm in two minds about Tumbler, there's some great stuff on it but be careful with the kids, there's also porn as i found out.
I also have just tried Instagram. Kim had sent me some family photos she edited with that. It's amazingly easy to get some great results using the app. It's fun to play with and I'm sure I would once I have a smart phone.
RSS. I've created a googlereader account and subscribed to earlyword and mashable.
More on Twitter. I just don't get it. I'm just not interested in most of what's on it. I have feeds but I rarely check them. I don't obsessivley check my phone. The ones I am more interested in I RSS or get email. But it is good for a laugh!

Twitter

Ok, so now i've added my tweets to by blog. tick.
Yammer
I have been on council's yammer for a long time but have never used it because my library collegues weren't. In general, the posts i would see were ususally either duplicates of things that appeared on the kelvinator or email, or they were too specific to the units using it.
Now that there is a library group i think it will be much more useful and attractive to use.

Back Again!

Social media part 2, only five years later! I impressed myself by remembering my password (on the third attempt). Rather than amuse you with my musings here are some great metal bookends available from http://www.artoridesign.com/
Blogger has changed in theat time so I am also going to have to brush up on post settings.

And on the basis that you can never have enough cat pictures......

#13 De.icio.us

Signed up in del.icio.us (and I so empathise with Jill getting sick of typing it). Reminds me of Furl from a few years ago. I liked the idea but as I was only using once computer it wasn’t worth it. I now can be using multiple computers and I hve found occasions when not having bookmarks transferred was quite frustrating so this sounds good.
Of course things never run smoothly. I could join no probs apart formthe fact that i'm trying to minimise my passwords and some other bugger already has them), but can’t add to my toolbar as council don’t allow it. Ok I’ll add to my home one if I ever get internet access. Keep going. Imported my bookmarks, again no problems. I didn't realise just how many i had.
It doesn’t look how I thought. Needs a bit of playing to get the hang of it but I don’t have time now.
It is just me or is it weird that the page orders go in reverse order?
I will come back to it.
